How to make OSHIRUKO/ZENZAI (Japanese sweet red bean soup) 〜お汁粉/ぜんざい〜 | easy Japanese home cooking

In this video, I am showing how to make Oshiruko (also known as Zenzai), a Japanese sweet red bean soup with Shiratama Dango and Mochi. In the recipe I am making Oshiruko/Zenzai from two types of Anko (sweet Azuki bean paste), namely Tsubu-An and Koshi-An. This is something we often eat in the cold winter especially around the New Years. This appears also in the Anime “One Piece” as the favorite dish of Big Mom.

In my Channel, I show step by step of alternative but authentic Japanese home cooking, which can be made with the ingredients that are easily available outside of Japan.

Ingredients for Oshiruko/Zenzai
Anko (Koshi-An or Tsubu-An) 100 g
Water 100 g (100ml)

Topping possibilities:
1. Hard Mochi (rice cake) 50 g
2. Shiratama-Dango
– Rice flour 1 Tbsp
– Mochiko (glutinous rice flour) 1 Tbsp
– Water 1 Tbsp +
