RECIPE #1: Viral Buldak Ramen

🥘 Ingredients

1 pack Buldak Carbonara
2 tbsp mayo (Kewpie is recommended)
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 egg yolk
1 soft boiled egg
1 tbsp Chili Oil
Sliced green onion

✍️ Instructions

For the eggs, boil for 6 ½ minutes then immediately plunge into an ice bath for 5 minutes to stop the cooking process. When they’re cooled down, peel and set aside.

Add the mayo, minced garlic, egg yolk, and both seasoning packets (included with the ramen) in a bowl and whisk until combined. Set aside.

Boil your noodles according to package instructions. When they’re done, save ½ cup of ramen water and strain the rest. Add the ramen water to the bowl with the egg yolk, mayo, garlic, and seasoning packets and whisk until combined. Add the cooked ramen and top with a cut in half soft boiled egg, sliced green onion, and some chili oil. Enjoy 🙂

RECIPE #3: Carbonara Instant Ramen (sorry Italians 🥲)

🥘 Ingredients

1 packet of Maruchan instant ramen
3-4 slices of bacon
¼ cup grated romano (or parmesan) cheese
2 egg yolks
Black pepper
Salt

✍️ Instructions

Add the bacon slices to a cold pan. Turn the heat up to medium and cook the bacon until the fat has rendered and the bacon is crispy. Turn off the heat, chop the bacon into small pieces and save most of the bacon and the bacon fat in the pan. Save a few bacon pieces in a separate dish to garnish the final dish with.

While the bacon cooks, boil the ramen noodles in heavily salted boiling water according to package instructions (about 2-4 minutes). Save ½ cup of pasta water once the ramen is finished cooking and strain the rest of the water. Save the flavor packets for another recipe!

While the bacon and noodles cook combine egg yolks, cheese, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and whisk until combined and a thick paste has formed.

Add the cooked noodles to the warm pan with the bacon and bacon fat and mix. Add egg/cheese/pepper paste and a little bit of pasta water to your pan with the cooked bacon and mix quickly until everything is combined and you’ve created a delicious, creamy pasta. Add more pasta water as needed. Remove from the heat as soon as you get your desired consistency. If you cook this too hot or for too long, you’ll scramble the eggs and you don’t want that.

Serve in a warm bowl and garnish each dish with a few pieces of the reserved bacon.
